Fire Ant Contracting is a progressive, growing, family owned and operated construction company based in NW Calgary. We are currently seeking a skilled, self-motivated, reliable, highly organized individual with basic construction and framing experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Miscellaneous labour required for construction and renovation work
- Follow directions and stay on task to ensure smooth workflow
- Assist in the assembling, erection and dismantling of scaffolds, ramps and barricades required at construction site
- Clean the site by removing debris and prepare it for next level work
- Perform general duties, stacking tools and materials
- Remove and dispose of materials
- Material pick-up and delivery
- Follow all health and safety regulations
- Ensure regulated and proper headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn
- Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
- Assist with drywall, tile, cabinetry, door install, baseboard trim
Qualifications:
- Must have reliable transportation and valid class 5 driver’s license
- Quick learner and a team player
- New home construction an asset
- Framing and related construction experience
- Must have basic tools and PPE
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Ability to work long hours with repetitive tasks
- Ability to handle heavy workloads which can be physically demanding
- Physically fit – able to lift over 50 lbs
